I know I've been missing in action. My kids were off school the week of March 12 for spring break. Having them home all day does put a bit of a crimp in my creative pursuits but that wasn't the reason for my absence. My whole household came down with some kind of virus. I spent the week nursing a bad cold and caring for them. I felt badly for my boys because we weren't up to having any fun spring break adventures. I spent the following week catching up on all the things I couldn't get done the week before; household chores and errands.
I plan to get some art in this week though. I have a date with myself on Wednesday to head to the botanical gardens with my sketchbook, watercolors and camera. I'm hoping the weather will cooperate. I'm sure to find lots of inspiration there. I can't wait!
So glad to see your post, was just thinking about you over the weekend. I miss seeing your artwork, can't wait to see what you create next.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear everyone was under the weather, that is a bummer. Glad your all doing well now and you can find some time to yourself.
My kids go on break after next week and I know my art time will not happen as often.
I'm trying to think of how to work this in during summer break. They kept me so busy last summer I didn't do any art or scrapbooking. IT was fun but by nightime all I wanted was SLEEP!! Hoping to do it different this summer.
Enjoy your time and I hope the weather is warm and sunny for you!!
I hope you guys are feeling better- we're just getting over a cycle of "the sicks", too. Tom brought home some bug from California last month and ever since then we've been passing it around. And then a kid at Gracie's school got strep, and then she got ear infections ON TOP of that... I'm hoping that it's FINALLY passing. Everyone says when kids go to school you get immune to it all, but you know what? Gracie's been in school for almost four years now (we started her at the toddler level in Montessori) and we're NOT immune. To anything!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear and see the results of the Botanical Garden trip! I pretty much decided that it's okay not to do *anything* but the bare necessities until the craziness passes a little. I'm so ready for that- I miss creating. I just don't feel like rushing through everything to try and find five minutes of time in my studio.
