My Journey Into Art

Art Journal

I haven't posted my art journal in awhile mostly because the pages haven't really consisted of art, it was more just journaling. This week, since it's a new month, I decided to actually make some art in the art journal. I've been seeing lots of abstract painting lately that other artists have been playing with and I wanted to give it a shot. My art journal is a good place to experiment since I'm not wasting a canvas if I don't like it. It's also small enough to not feel intimidating. I really like the right side of the spread the best and might try again on a real canvas to see what comes about. This was really intuitive. I didn't go in with a set plan of what I was going to put on the pages.

  3. These are both so pretty and colorful. It is fun to play in our art jouranls!! I love all the circles and that you wrote in the flower petals, I should try that. Nice to see your art journal again!

What I do when feeling inspired to play around is using a manilla folders. They sell a 10 pack of them at the $1 store. I cut them in half and use front and back so that is a lot of playing for a dollar. What I usually do is spread 4 of them out on the table and use different tools to get the paint on them. There isn't a plan, it's just about having fun.
Thanks for sharing and inspiing me!
