I haven't had the opportunity to get any paintings done in the last week. I have a lot of things going on right now that is keeping me from making art. My priorities are focused elsewhere for the next few weeks.
I'm still working in my art journal and will post the next spread soon. In the meantime, here is a mandala that I worked on today. It's simple but it provided me with the zen moments I was seeking and satisfied my creative urge.

WOW, this is gorgeous!! I love the deep rich colors and all the zentangles on this, can't even pick a favorite. How awesome you did on it, love how many artsy things you share with us.
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous! I am SO bad at symmetry, but mandalas REALLY call to me. Deeply. I have two books full of mandalas for coloring, but I can't even bear to color them. I love yours- LOVE the colors. I need to learn that when I don't have time for full on creativity, I can still take out some pens and a piece of paper and just do something, even for a few minutes. I am SO stuck in this "well, there's not enough time..." thing and then it lasts for a week or so and I think about all the five/ten minute increments that all together could have produced an entire project.
ReplyDeleteThanks, ladies! I love mandalas. There's something so relaxing to me about starting in the center and working out. I don't plan, I just go with whatever comes in the moment. Sometimes they are skewed but so what?! It's the rhythmic motion of going round and round that makes it so zen-like.
